At the employee meetings today they had the retirement for my brother. They played a video that was lots of employees and even people from the local Chick-fil-a and Starbucks saying what a great guy he was and wished him well in his retirement.
They also announced a new program that made the local news. If you have worked full time for at least a year and want to quit and try something else, they will gift you $5000, and 2 months of continued health insurance and you will be give priority if you want to come back when the company starts hiring again
They also announced a BYOC campaign. BYOC is Bring Your Own Cup. The styrofoam cups are 4¢ each.
I may submit a suggestion for a coffee tip jar for those that drink coffee to contribute to the coffee fund. When the company was much smaller they had a coffee tip jar and also stocked their own soda and candy machines. At some point in the summer they would host a weekend fishing trip at Lake Texoma. The profits from the commissary paid for lunch on Saturday, and all the fixins, minus fish for a big fish fry Saturday Evening. It also provided prizes for biggest fish, and most fish caught.
My Dad worked there back then and until he retired he always took a big thermos of his own coffee every day. Even long after the tip jar disappeared and they had a service take over the snack machines and provided free coffee.
