I have a different opinion of the factory 81-84 sports seats...they are not comfortable at all to me. I'm 6' and 195 and the sport seats are not wide enough for my back. After an hour or so, I am very uncomfortable. I sold my sports earlier this year and went back to the 86 comfort seats. They are way more comfortable to me and hold me in place really well in spirited driving.
As most will say, it is best to find a car that has the seats you are considering and take a long ride in them. Sitting in one for a few minutes in a showroom is basically useless for making a decision for a street car.
