During Saturday's 919 demonstration laps the car hit 149/150 mph at the Mother's bridge. A guy we talked to has been coming to Laguna Seca for many years, & he said that is by far the highest speed he's ever seen there. I think he said 137 or so was the highest previous speed he'd seen. I think they said he was hitting 155 before the Andretti hairpin.
It was very cool to see the 919 at speed, & up close in the Porsche factory display. Does anyone know who was driving it for Saturday's demo laps? They probably announced it but we couldn't hear. I saw Mark Webber there, but I know other LeMans drivers were there too. I'm just curious who we were watching.
Thanks.

I talked with one of the mechanics that was over from the UK and he said the 919 was only running the internal combustion engine and none of the hybrid systems. Can only imagine what speeds it would hit running on full song. He was super cool and informative, and helped me with picking up signatures from quite a few drivers that I may have missed on my own.
The event was amazing, amazing, amazing! Being able to see so many friends that I don't get to see that often and the new friends I made and hopefully get to become closer with made for a very memorable experience. Being able to approach and talk to some of the people that are legends in all of motorsport not only Porsche, Wow, just amazing.
Of all the cars that ran I liked the sound of the works 991 the best, from anywhere in the whole venue you knew when that car was on the track.
ps
To everyone that signed my wagon a great big Mahalo! that thing is going on the wall of fame!
Kenny, Dave, Brad awesome weekend
