Geezer voice "Why back in my day when I was in high school" The dress hem line rule was wonderful (for guys) as the hemline had to come DOWN to at least even with the tips of girl's thumbs when she stood at rest with her arms to her sides. The even better news is often the girls would get checked by a teacher and then promptly roll up the top of the skirt at the belt line to raise the hem line. I look at my high school yearbook and marvel at how short the dresses were back in the early 70s.
That was in ultra conservative buckle of the bible belt Montgomery, Alabama. In Hawaii were I was the year before the students were fighting the dress code and the school gave in and say aw screw it, no dress code at all, where whatever you want. Lots of halter tops bare bellies and mini skirts and even a few bikinis
Dang it was HARD for this 15 year old hormone infested male to pay attention to the teacher and school work.
