A 928 is an 8-cylinder powerful Porsche no longer being built, once sold alongside the 911 and the 944. It's glory days were in the early-mid 80's as I seem to recall. Powerful and pretty-good-looking, but had a lot of mechanical problems. I never owned one, so this is just what I have heard. I think Porsche had grander schemes for the 928, perhaps even thinking that the 911 might fade away, but Porsche-philes kept the 911 on the top and the 928 is now obsolete. Someone else may have a better description.
