The kit I bought over e-bay had a nice new stainless diaphragm plate, but the six O rings which go on the tower part didn't fit. You can purchase the proper size from Grainger. though with a proper kit you ought not to have to.

My first tries produced leaks, which turned out to be because one of these little O rings got dislodged. The tolerances are so close that no matter how much you squish a bit of O ring it will leak. Which is probably good, because just one faulty O ring will also cause problems, and likely leaks. Because my last effort led to leaks not around the rim of the assembly as before, but from one or more of the mounting holes, so the gasoline came out from under the FD on top of the aluminum base part.

I guess I should try the varnish sealant trick, though one ought not to have to do that. I don't know where these leaks are coming from, as the new O rings all were seated - I kept looking carefully in as I lowered one part onto the other to be sure none were getting dislodged.
