Cruise control 101 ; (86' 951)
1) Control box on drivers side kick panel , remove box and remove cover to gain access the circuit board . With a pencil style solder iron and solder (Radio Shack) resolder all solder joints . My motto on soldering is twice the heat half the solder .
2)Cruise control motor , remove from car and remove 4 bolts to gain access to wiper contacts ,note spring position ,clean both wiper arms contacts and check for proper tension on circuit board , also clean the contact strips ( contact cleaner )and add a small amount or dielectric grease onto the strips . Reassembly .
3)Check the both switches , located under the dash on the fixed frame of the brake and clutch pedals . Pull the plug off the end of the switches and check for proper operation using a digital volt meter on the lowest ohms scale (Radio Shack). With the clutch out the switch is closed and if your brake lights work ok , the brake switch is good .

I hope this helps.....
