Hi Gary, I just purchased a 2007 Cayman with 17000 miles. Yes they do have IMS bearings but the failure is very, very low. Have a PPI done at a Porsche Dealer or shop, they can change oil and check filter. Mine is replacing my 18 year 993, pretty hard shows to fill. I'm very happy with the Cayman..Best, Mark
