Yes, went from an '85 911 to my 06 CS. Miss the 'rawness' of the 911, but the handling and comforts of the CS works for me - no regrets.
IMS being the most serious but rare issue, you should also budget to replace the water pump and perhaps the shift cables as some point.
If you plan to track the car with slicks, you will need some lubrication / oiling modifications.
