Price of Parts going thru the Roof?
Lots of discussion here on the steep price increace of Air Cooled cars recently........
BUT, I haven't looked at the price of parts for a few years and I'm shocked at what I see......Example, prices I paid for certain parts about 5 to 7 years ago:
$175 - Set of 2.4 heads with new valve job
$250 - Set of 2.4 cylinders, pistons and rings with only 1,000 miles from new
$600 - Set of Fuchs 16x6 and 16x7 with great Dunlop tires
FREE - Seats out of a 1972 in very good shape.
$50 - Starter motor
$200 - Set of very good Zenith 40-TIN
$4,500 - 3.0 engine with high compression 3.2 Max Mortiz kit...964 cams, balanced, new studs, fresh rebuild. 209 RWHP.....Happy Times
Anyhow, these prices are are not the current market for sure.....Agreed?
