The electrics/electronics on mids and highs are almost exactly the same.
If you would be happier with the mid go with it and as an added bonus you shouldn't need to change your venting.
Plus gas is ridiculously cheap right now. The service charges are typically more than the fuel.
Code for the city here is high efficiency furnaces only.
Codes change so make sure that you have everything covered and have it inspected.
