That name stuff is confusing.
My Dad's Dad was William Patrick Davis. My Dad was the oldest and Named George Alva Davis. He had two younger brothers. Jack Wayne Davis, and William Patrick Davis Jr the youngest brother.
My Dad was called Alvie by all his 9 sisters. Everyone else from back then called him Little Pat or Pat. Only much later after having a boy he named George Alva Davis Jr did he start going by George. George Jr just always went by George Jr.
My Dad's brother Jack Wayne was just called Jack. Named his boy Jack Wayne and everyone called and still calls him Wayne. Wayne has downs syndrome and is amazingly still alive at 56 years old. He is mentally 14.
My Dad's youngest brother William Patrick Davis Jr was called Junior and only on official occasions goes by Bill.
My oldest brother Robert Eugene Davis goes by Bob, Robert, Bobby, Eugene and Gene. All the family members call him Bob. Bob had two boys, Kendal Allen and Kelly Neilson. They each just go by their first names. However, Kendal married a girl named Kelly so they are referred to in conversation as Kelly Boy and Kelly Girl to keep it straight.
My half brother was named after his dad that died in a car wreck two weeks before he was born. Thomas Austin Hill. He alway went by Tom. His Wife calls him Tommy. His oldest son is also named Thomas Austin Hill. He grew up being call Trey until college then started going by Thomas. He sighs everything T3 or TAH3 though. Thomas also named is oldest son Thomas Austin Hill. He goes by Austin.
My name is Richard Kent Davis, hence the RKD. I went by Kent until Junior High. Got tired of always telling the teachers to call me by my middle name so started just going by Richard. For a while people that knew me as Kent called me Richard Kent, then just Richard. Several times people suggested I shorten Richard to Rich, Rick, or Dick, but I just told them if they wanted to call me something shorter they could just call me by my middle name, Kent. Result is that have been The Richard for my adult life. It is amazing how many times I've tried to register on-line and RKD, Richard Davis, Kent Davis, and Richard Kent Davis are already taken. Another interesting thing...My Dad had 9 sisters. Every single one of them were school teachers and every one of their daughters were school teachers as well. And if not weird enough the sister's daughters that had daughters are school teacher too. Don't know if that has continued or not, but it's still pretty weird.
