This is nothing new. MM is out of the championship hunt, is pissed at Rossi, and Jorge is a fellow Spaniard. Don't forget, the last race is in Spain.
There is a definite Spanish bias to GP racing. Spain has a pretty effective feeder series and there are so many Spanish riders, Spanish races... Dorna is run by a Spaniard...
I think MM has been screwing with Rossi for a while, and he ought to know that won't end well for him. Rossi has the most experience, the most cunning... he knows how to play the game.
Time will tell, but I don't think Rossi meant to knock MM off his bike. **** with him? Certainly. Hitting the brake lever was probably just a fluke. Better quality video replays would probably support Rossi's version.
I expect Rossi will be pretty aggressive at the last race, presuming he doesn't win an appeal. It's not over yet. If he can catch up with Lorenzo, he can win the title, regardless of where Jorge finishes. Lots of guys in the back of the field will let Rossi right by, the rest he'll catch on skill and determination. To be certain of taking the title, Jorge has to win the race and hope the other Spaniards finish behind him. Asking Dani or MM to give up a win in Spain... yeah, good luck.
