Hey Matt - I missed the 911R somehow, it looks like the ticket, but weeding through the web threads yielded several disturbing hints of limited availability (600 worldwide??) and pricing ("steep increase").
I guess my hope is that the 911R will reduce 997 GT3 demand for a short time and I can snatch a decent 997 GT3!
I will not automatically "dismiss" a GT3 due to track work, but the thought of someone pounding it to the red-line for hours on end gives me indigestion.
I think when I'm finally ready for my ultimate fantasy ride (5 years or so?), something will be available in my price range (by then $100k?) or I will have to up my ante to park one in my garage and sell a few other toys to make room.
On the other hand, the new manual only Mustang GT350R looks to be very interesting as a low cost substitute...
