Don't think those buildings are part of Catalina Express... I was too excited about getting over to Catalina to check it out but as far as I could tell the small building in the middle was the only thing they were operating out of.
RE: El Segundo, yes, very nice old town section, Nice beach, nice restaurants... I guess any community close to the beach in SoCal demands a premium. However not sure I would want to live sandwiched between a international airport and refineries.
