Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles has unveiled the latest, sixth generation of its Transporter panel van which has been on sale in the UK since 1954. The exterior design has been sharpened up, there’s a new range of Euro 6 diesels with improved fuel consumption, the latest driver safety systems have been added and it benefits from a new entertainment and sat nav system.

Externally the T6 Transporter gets a complete re-design, although in typical Germanic fashion it’s definitely evolutionary, rather than revolutionary; it’s unmistakably a Transporter. Internally the cab gets a total going-over with a great deal of the T5’s rather ‘slabby’ facia replaced by useable storage space.
