I bought a foot of heater hose and relocated my heater control valve back and towards the passenger side- I recommend that mod because it not only moves it out of the way of the sensors, but if it ever fails it wont leak coolant into the inspection hole. With the engine cold I lost very little coolant in the process.
good idea. when replacing my clutch and fiddling with the top bell housing bolt and sensors, had to disconnect and move the HCV off to the side. thougtht I had gotten all the coolant out. but when reinstalling the sensors and BH bolt and went to reconnect the HCV some coolant burped out and went down the inspection hole. I had stuffed a paper towel in it to prevent bolts/etc from going in, but not anticiapted the coolant. glad I had not reinstalled the TT, had to pull the clutch and get a new clutch disc. had a lot of coolant on it. now I keep some alum HVAC tape over that dang hole.
