Bought this on eBay, $750. Rode it home from Salinas to Van Nuys after dark. Behind the fairing at 80 was calm, you could feel the thermostat cycling.
Did this paint job right after 9/11. I still have this one.
Red line on the 3-4 shift was at 100, and front tire was usually an inch in the air.

My fav commute bike. Made going from the valley home to the beach a delight.
Not as smooth as the 750, but a brute, was not happy below 70.
Made LA to SanFran a breeze. I put 30k on this bike in 3 years.
An R65, sold me on a chain of airheads, but I liked this one best.

At one time I had 21 bikes in a hangar in the valley. Had to choose one to ride to Redondo when in town.
