We have another rainy day in the forecast. I don't mind rain because it never needs to be shoveled off of my driveway. I am a charter member of the Ricky's we hate frozen water and S*** club.
They had a story on the news last night about someone that hired a bad engineer or no structural engineer. He built a house to be tornado proof or highly resistant. It was just a A frame made of concrete panels tied together with massive steel beams. It would have been good in the zombie Apocalypse. The problem was the house was so rigid that a minor little earthquake has totaled the house. It is the first house in Oklahoma on record to be totaled by an earthquake. The house was so rigid that it could not move without breaking like an egg shell. It was an ugly house anyway.
A friend of mine married a nice enough lady, but she is even crazier than the average female. She has a extreme fear tornadoes. They ended up building a really neat mostly underground house. It is built into the side of a hill. He just mows he roof. Never has to worry at all about hail. It has steel shutters that roll out of wall like a aircraft hangar. They test them but have never had to close them. It too would be a good house for when the zombies come. Personally I am not very worried about zombies.
