1. Driver side markers out, check the fuse or the wiring into the fuse holder are snug. Even if fuse looks intact, remove and clean the holder then replace fuse.
2. Position one could be wired wrong. Headlight should light on position 2 or last pull of the knob only. If wired correctly then it could be the stalk fault.

Thanks for the tips and the diagram. That's a huge help. They of course have suddenly started working again. I went to take a look and now they are just working and have for the last two days. Go figure. I will still take a look at the fuse and then the switch.
