I just purchased an early 911 oil pump, and the first thing I notice is that it doesn't spin freely. I can barely turn it if I use every ounce of strength in my fingers on the splined shaft. I don't recall the last 911 oil pump I worked on being so tight, and a quick search on the forum seems to indicate that the pump should spin more easily than this.

Should it spin more freely?
