The OHIO Class SSBNs are still in service with technology that was designed in the 70's. There have been some technology updates, but there's a lot of stuff on board that I would definitely describe as "crude engineering." Here's a bridge picture from the USS Florida; he's keeping track of other ships in the area using grease pencil on the windshield.
