what type of pistol safe/box for a bedroom ?
My wife and I were having a discussion yesterday after my most recent firearm purchase. And that discussion centered around that all my guns are in a big gun safe. Nothing wrong with that except it is not handy in case of an emergency. So I'm thinking of getting some type of lock box/pistol safe to house two revolvers ( his and hers ) and a small flashlight. The revolvers would be loaded and ready to go. We have three young grandchildren ( 8 and under ) so the guns need to be locked up in my opinion. So what are you guys and gals using for this purpose ? The obvious choices are a box with a key lock, a combination lock or an electric/battery finger print type of lock. There are pluses and minuses to each type. Not sure which type would be best in a panic situation, but it seems like fingerprint ID may be the fastest IF it is reliable. But I don't like the idea of yet another friggen battery eater in the house so maybe ones that have an AC adapter ? Or is a manual key type the best/simplest and just keep the key hidden ? Open for ideas.
