Sorry for late response but your input is much appreciated. Bought the car mid summer. Car in beautiful shape but previous owner said first gear synchro was out. Drove it home about 8 miles in 2nd and 4th gear. Took inspection plate off and shift fork bolts literally fell on garage floor. Thought I had problem solved. Lock tight and reinstalled and first gear was there!!! Got stock shifter to to make the up gears, 1st and 3rd And sometimes 5th. Then readjusted and could get 2nd, 4th and reverse. Finally replaced bushings and swepco. Still couldn't get all gears. Got WEVO shifter and coupling. This past weekend installed and shifted through gears with engine running in garage. Shifter would feel like it hung up when trying 5th and reverse. I now can not move the shift coupling by hand. The car is in neutral but it just feels like the shaft is hanging inside the transmission.
