Fuel pump has come back from Sydney where they discovered cardboard inside the fuel pump - go figure. must have been residual pieces from when tank was in cardboard box, remember this is new reproduction tank.

So we have another new Fuel pump ready to go, but the question is how did the cardboard get from the tank to the fuel pump, given there should be filter in the tank like that shown below on the right. Alas there was not. I just assumed there would be and the thought to remove the drain plug and check did not cross my mind. Anyway I have a new filter - but it does not fit the drain plug thread on the tank. The diameter of the threads are just different, the thread diameter on the plug is 30mm, on the new filter it's 35mm - so back to drawing board on that one.

Meanwhile got the ignition switch/streering lock installed after it's repair, what a job that is. Key now turns to the Start position and the engine turns over - just one big problem left - Fuel!!

The plug at the base of the tank is a monster 38mm, and a large shifter with 800mm extension pipe could not move it. So had to purchase high tensile impact socket and rip it out with the impact gun. WTF.

Interior is back together with steering lock/ignition switch fixed and installed, steering wheel back on seats in, I'm ready to go!! Well.....nearly!!

get some fuel going and remove the push button start and I'm away

cheers
