I have a car in storage and do the same thing though I use
unscented glue traps. I purchased them from a supply house and a guy there said the scented kind (or any food used in traps for that matter) can actually attract rodents. I've used them for a few years now and have only found one mouse trapped. That was a couple of years ago and none since.
