Agree with most of the points made here in this thread, although my opinion, like others', is just an opinion. I seem to be most inline with Quicksliver:

"The one thing I really don't like is the way the louvers on the fender were done. The hex metal mesh in the opening is nice but the angle of the louvers is too short and abrupt for me. It just seems to be an obtrusive hack. If the louvers were made so they were at a much more sloped angle with maybe the leading edge punched inward I might like them. Maybe if they only stuck up 1/3 as much. I'd want to see a few different things before I'd agree to interrupt the line of the fender.
That said... It is his car and he has his own style that he obviously enjoys and this is done VERY WELL to that style. Plus he did this with a basket case and I think even the biggest critic would say it was an improvement."

As I stated earlier in this thread, I am confounded as to how the addition of louvres and a finned gas cap improve on the lines of the car. If the louvres provide some function, then great. Not really my cup of tea aesthetically speaking...I am curious as to how they might look executed as Quicksilver describes and/or gradually elongating downward with the lower edges following the radius of the wheel arch as they progress toward the rear of the car. And I whole-heartedly agree that it is his car and he can do as he pleases.

Deepest condolences to him and his family.
