I've found that the moon clips work best on the .45 - the short, stubby case and its standardized groove has the least slop, which means a full clip lines up perfectly every time. .357/.38 doesn't have a standardized groove (above the rim) so rounds tend to flop around in the clip. And not all .357/.38 brass fit all clips. It's still better than loading one at a time or using big, bulky speedloaders, but sometimes it takes a little jiggling to get a fresh clip into the cylinder.
Oh, and I can say "clip" and actually be correct.
