Building a Tiptronic transmission to take a beating
Looking at a 95 993 with a bad Tiptronic transmission. The engine seems to run OK and no smoke but the trans is toast.
I really like the car and the deal looks great. I also like the idea of the Tiptronic. However I'd probably be adding a turbo to the motor along with a few other tastey mods. I wouldn't want the trans to go again once I had all the work done.
A couple of questions. How much power can I expect to be able to put through the Tiptronic and have it last? What kinds of mods can I do to a stock trans that will help it hold the additional power?
