Hi Rick T ,sorry to have to tell you this but you have The famous death rattle,
failing timing chain tensioner , the foram you mentioned is probably not answered
because it happens to nearly all mini coopers, although they look ok ,drive ok
they have quite alot of mechanical problems,.good luck.
