i'm with mr goodwin on this one.
i've learned that sometimes abs lets you skip like a rock over a pond.
my favorite "you fail" spot is fwy off-ramps when there's stutter/braking bumps towards the bottom.
these little whoop-dee-doos and similar conditions trigger the abs and take away my ability to "whoa" the thing down.
i have a couple of test spots where i like to play with the abs on bikes i ride. most of them, bmw's included, do the same thing.
they chatter/chatter/skip/skip over terrain that my non-abs bikes normally still get bite/traction.

abs can be a wonderful thing in straight line/smooth terrain, but i live and ride in soCal, and we don't have much in the way of smooth roads, since the ground here is constantly doing the mambo.
