I sealed the two parts of my crankcase with Loctite 574 anaerobic sealant, which is what the repair manual called for. I torqued everything to spec.

That was a few weeks ago now and I had to pull it all apart again yesterday to check something.

I was surprised to see that the sealant had apparently not cured - it seemed to be a similar consistency as when I put it all together.

Is this right or should it harden? I realise any that is still exposed to air will stay fairly fluid and sticky but was expecting it to have cured on the sealing surfaces.
