Only found this out this morning telling a pal about this thread. He recently found an IPhone with a shattered screen on the street in his hood. His kids turned it on. Within a couple of hours a knock on the door. "It says my Mom's IPhone is in your house"

Friend of mine lost his phone at a concert.
Was pretty sure the group of younger guys behind him had taken it.
About 4 in the morning he got a hit on it's location using the Find feature.
Was an hour drive away. He stopped in at the local Sherriff's office, explained the situation, and a deputy went with him to the house.
Deputy knocked and sure enough one of the kids from the concert answered.
At first he denied having it until the Deputy showed him that Find My iPhone said it was here at this location then added, "right now it's just a lost phone but it's about to turn into possession of stolen property any second now"
Friend got his phone back.
