Even though it is smaller, since it faces open water I expect the new one that your sister likes is also a bump in price.
Christmas week is a very busy time for Key West. It should give you a good feel for some things you will experience when the tourists come flocking in. Hopefully, it will not turn off your wife to the Keys.
