Another week in NOLA
New Orleans has turned into one of my fav spots. I go there a few times a year and always have a blast. I just got back and once again I wish I stayed another week.
This past week there did seem to be a bit more homeless type 20 sump'ns. Now I can't say they were living on the streets per se but many have cans out to collect change. Seems like they all have dogs. I guess the dogs provide another means for people to connect and give? None seems skinny so I guess it works.
I normally don't do Burbon street - too many other great spots for music. I like Frenchman but there was a great band at the Funky Pirate called Big Al Carson and the Bluesmasters. Big Al was out due to a bad case of arthritis so the harmonic player sang - man named Peter. Very good.
I always make sure to have a glass of Absinth and to eat at Coops and have grilled oysters at the Acme. I'm sure there are tons of great bars and restaurants. Found a great one called Casamentos. And a great bar off Magazine called Barrel Proof. There were actually several great bars down there...can't remember the names though. I'm sure my credit card does!
Lucky Dog Hotdogs at 2AM...loaded to go. Its a must.
Place never disappoints...
