IMHO- We are about to enter if we haven't already, a period where the classic cars are just that, and the new ones lack any collectability. Look at Aston Martins for example. older, more mechanical and simpler cars, albeit with our any really performance compared to today's cars and a butt load of more maintenance considerations, are worth many times more than the newer, nicer counterparts.

ie, DB4 vs DB7 or DB9.

The new p cars don't appeal to me in the same way. Surely they are nice cars, and I'd love to have one, but they lack the charm of manual steering, having to find non ethanol gas, and a relatively inefficient engine. But the sound, the feeling of driving, and the "cool " factor cannot be replicated even by the 964 in my opinion. To me the last of the cool cars died in the 89 model 911.
