I'm an EE myself (BS and MS) and the degree merely helps open door. Your ability and work ethic determines your success. I've managed people with MIT degrees who weren't nearly as good as those with small school degrees.

^^^^ This. Not an EE myself, but worked with plenty over the years....first at RTP fresh out of college, where many of the EEs opened the door while still getting their degree...something to consider maybe?
Where one's degree was from didn't matter after day 1....
