Garage
Fortunate BreaK Downs

Tonight while moving my car into the garage it broke down on me. The clutch cable retainer pin at the pedal cluster let loose, freeing the clutch and stalled my car just as I got it in the garage.

I couldn't help but think how fortunate I was. Could have caused some excitement on the road in addition to causing me tow it. I can't imagine what my wife would have done with the clutch stuck engaged, would have been her own little episode of "Speed".

Either way, I was thinking I should adjust my clutch. Guess this bumps it up on the priorty list.

I've been fortunate with vehicles this way. My Landcruiser has only failed me once, wouldn't start after work one day (bad electronic distributor component). Ride home from a buddy and a short tow to the base auto hobbie shop for a fix.

Strange to feel good about having your vehicle break down on you.

So give me some input:
-Replace entire clutch cable?
-Fix attachment?

Been working on my other vehicle so the pedal cluster rebuild doesn't look like any fun right now (no motivation for the while I'm there projects...).
