Coworker in the late 80's bought his first car (brand new), had always walked to work, parked it in front of the house he lived in and on the fourth night it got totaled sitting at the curb. Worked through all the insurance details for about three weeks and finally got another brand new car. First night totaled in the exact same spot at the curb.
Only worked a mile from where he lived. Decided to keep walking to work. Was almost a year before he decided to try again.
