It's easy if you pay $900 for the adapter kit!  Probably the best compromise is to just install a Denison 500SBT or MOBRIDGE to add Bluetooth and iPod to the existing audio system.
Honestly you run into this issue with most modern (overcomplicated) German cars, I think that MB, Audi, and BMW use similar systems. Funny how American and Japanese cars can have better audio without stupid convoluted technology.
