post a picture of the damper marks,
yours could be backwards.
This picture shows a 32 valve damper set to 45 BTDC
NOTE the other quick way to tell where the crank is set is to observe the key way .
while looking at the engine,
the key way pointing to 3 O clock indicates 45 BTDC,
and 4 O clock is TDC
NOTE while facing the engine you should be able to read the markings
