I just had all of the above at my family gathering…but nobody shot anybody. Why do people continue to blame society or a "dysfunctional country" for the actions of one idiot. Each individual is responsible for his own actions.

Of course the majority of people don't shoot anyone on Christmas. I hardly ever shoot anyone.
But the numbers don't lie. Americans shoot each other at a rate that is so out of proportion to other western countries that it's impossible to say that nothing is wrong here. And a large percentage of shootings and killings are done between friends or family members that would result in maybe a black eye if everyone didn't have a loaded gun at the ready.
