Maybe I can add something. I'm maybe selling my 72 in the spring. 210k km, ROW car imported to Canada from Germany in the early 80s. It's had SC flares added, the interior redone (new carpet, RS door panels, seats from a mid-80s 944), non-original paint, fibreglass ducktail plus original decklid, S options incl. factory front spoiler, rebuilt tranny, rebuilt Webers, 1982 3.0L engine with maybe 150k miles plus original #s matching engine (needing rebuild), a bit of rust under the battery and a bit on the lower front corner of the passenger seat. So all in all it's got a lot of good and some bad - the biggest drawback in terms of the value is the body modification (flares) - aside from that it could be returned to stock for very little money. The rust repair is pretty easy, and it could use a paint job anyway. It's an ideal candidate for restoration, or to keep driving as-is (which is what I'll do, if I don't sell).

If I were to list it right now, I'd list it somewhere in the mid 60s, expecting to sell in the low 60s.
