Wrong again, the 997 IMS is substantially more reliable than the 996, which still isn't all that bad. But you're right that the 2009 was the end of an era, the 9A1 did not have an IMS. Instead it has direct injection and carbon buildup issues......

If you think the 991 is a superior choice, do some research on DIY maintenance and get back to me. Start with removing the rear bumper to replace the air filter.
