No, its not that at all.... The charging ada ran for DA against a former DA who initially reviewed the case (Bruce Castor). It was a major issue in the campaign. The current DA (neither of these folks) was elected judge. Today is the end of the workyear for these folks. The chariging ADA was greenlighted to do this, I suspect, as he's now the incoming DA and he was arguing for it all along.

The plaintiff's deserve their money. Any comment about it being acceptable "in their world" misses the mark. It is never, in any world, acceptable to drug someone to the point of incoherence for the purpose of screwing them. Period.
