I have been looking at this quite a bit lately.
South Carolina would like my company to re-locate there and is providing a very positive incentive package. We meet again in Columbia on the 20th of this month for a proposal tune-up before getting approval in March.
My partner and I figure I'll need to be down there at least two week a month, probably more like three when we get started. The transition from our current facility to SC will take over a year.
I don't plan on moving down there permanently and while hotels or renting seems wasteful, buying additional property would be idiotic. My plan is to find either an RV or outfit the new facility with a"tiny house" - either fixed or on wheels.
Lots of options. I'll get serious after January.
