probably the plastic is ABS.
I used two way to repair ABS on my classic BMW R65 bike:
-put some ABS granulate (or small parts of Lego blocks, or parts of mobile Phone covers) in a small can with cover together with acetonee.After a few hours or a day (depends on the size of the parts you used), the plastic will completely be solved in the acetone and you will get a kind of a "ABS putty". prepare the "weld" comparable to weld preparation for metal parts. Apply thin but many coats of this stuff. It has to be thin because the acetonee has to evaporate completely without creating vacuoles.
-To merge ABS parts, you can use a soldering iron to meld both parts together.
A combination of both methods will also work very well.
