Wow! We got our 2.5 y.o. on skis this last weekend - but she was just on the toy "strap to your shoes" skis. She did some time between my knees on a gentle hill with me in NNN-BC gear. Couldn't get her to run free on her own, but then again she's young and small (maybe 24# now at 2.5 years, was 410g when born at 25 wks) but fearless. We'll give her a few more experiences sliding around this year and look for really little proper ski boots for next year once there are some in her size.
We need a good harness like you have to let her free of my knees but still under a bit of control...
