Just a guess, but maybe the thermostat? Not sure how it's hooked in or where it is, but my understanding is there's a coolant temp sensor that runs the turbo pump. When you shut down if coolant is cold, it will always run for at least 30sec. After you hit the critical temp, it will keep running until it gets below that temp.
When hot, I've heard mine running for up to 15 minutes.
