That stubborn old man sure built some pretty nice bikes. His paint scheme isn't my style (too flashy) but I can over look that. Hell, I suffer so much on a bike that I never know the difference on the color or way they look.
He has cancer, and his bikes will be worth a lot of money in the future.
How does it ride over rough roads? I raced on Alum bike for some time, even train lots of miles on them but found the ride to be acceptable and didn't lose any fillings. I like alum. race bikes, but that was 15-20 years ago. I still have one, a Torelli alum. with carbon stays and fork exactly like yours. I am sure they were from the same era.
